  I had a laceration that needed stiches. Due to the low reviews I hesitated to go to the emergency room of this hospital but my husband advised me to go. He himself had received great care. I reluctantly went there. To my surprise I was treated with respect and with what seems to me a capable and professional manner. Dr. Franklyn stiched my wound. He was courteous, explained the procedure, and with his calm demeanour made me feel comfortable and cared for. My visit was short and I came out with a total opposite opinion than when I went in. I went back 2 days later and Dr. Bei was fast, and very nice as well. I want to make a special emphasis on the administrative personnel, Maria and specially Vicky, were of great help explaining the charges. They answered all my questions and with their comments gave me the impression that they were truly interested in helping me out. I am absolutely satisfied with the care I received and because of the low reviews I would like to include mine. My only suggestion is to have a more friendly people at the front desk. Whenever anyone comes in is because they don't feel well, it is an emergency room after all, having front desk people showing COMPASSION AND explaining with patience what needs to be done with the paper work would definitely help to increase the ratings. They are the gate keepers, with their attitude toward the patient they have the power to set the tone of the waiting room and whatever comes after. If they were more compassionate and cheerful I am sure the entire atmosphere would be more pleasant for everybody. A sincere small smile goes a long way! No matter who we are and what we do we only have one short "1st impression" opportunity and the effect could last for a very long time. Thank you Memorial Hospital of Gardena.

  The worse experience ever. Been here for two hours and now their excuse is they received 8 ambulances with an attitude the lady from the front desk at least be courteous if you don't like your job maybe chose another career !! Another person in the front desk eating a watermelon and the others giving an attitude. So unprofessional their no hand sanitizer no Kleenex a caution wet floor sign over a spill that has prob. Been their for more than four hours and no ones has tried cleaning it up. This place is not save at all let alone call it a hospital. !!
